After what seems like an eternity there are a very very limited number of the Cinelli Vigorosa framesets coming into the UK.
The Vigorosa is a Vigorelli track frame with limited edition Giro inspired paint and graphics.
If you want to secure one of these for yourself we recommend that you put in a pre-order with us as soon as possible because they won’t stick around for long!

Bevan Humphries, one of our road time riders took his first win of the season this weekend at the Gerry Hughes Memorial Road Race in Worcestershire.
The race was contested over 65 miles, four laps of the Welland Circuit. Bev was in a breakaway of 8 riders who managed to stretch the gap out to about three minutes before he fought for the line with Paul Dring of Team Echelon-Rotor. As you can see from the video still below it really was as close as possible!

Congratulations to Bev and everyone else that competed! A couple of reports can be found on the British Cycling website and the Worcester St Johns CC blog.
Another of our team took first place this weekend too, stay tuned for more info…

We’ve just had a couple of new Fairdale Bikes through the door in the shape of the Flyer Step-Through and Flyer Standard.
“The Flyer is our comfortable and fun cruiser. We designed it to be extremely simple and used trustworthy parts that will keep this bike rolling for years. The classic twin top tube styling allows us to offer [two different] versions by simply flipping the top tubes.”
The frame and fork are steel with rack and fender mounts; here’s a quick run through of the components…

The stopping power is provided by Odyssey levers and beefy, good looking u-brakes.

The 3-piece BMX cranks are built to last, they’re as solid as a rock and will take a lot of abuse. The Flyer is a singlespeed, the custom Fairdale 33t sprocket is paired with a 13t on the back giving you 66 gear inches which is light enough to get you up some hills but also high enough to let you zoom along on the flat.

It features a special riser version of the Archer bars for a more fun, relaxed riding experience. Odyssey Terry Adams grips will keep your hands where they should be.

Both the Step-Through and the Standard has 26″ wheels coupled with 26×1.9 tyres to cushion the bumps and keep you rolling for longer.

This is the Standard which has the higher top tube, you can also see the Odyssey Twisted pedals in eye watering orange.
The Fairdale Flyer Step-Through and the Standard are £429.99 and available in both white and army green. If you’re someone who loves to spend a lot of time down the beach and cruising around on beautiful summer evenings then this is the bike for you.
If you’d like a chat about these or anything else give us a call on 01792 467944.

This is my very own Fairdale Weekender, having ridden it for about a week now I am 100% sure that it is going to be my go-to day-to-day bike from now on!
I got into cycling through fixed gear bikes and that’s what I’ve ridden most of the time for the last few years with a smattering of road bikes and more recently a singlespeed thrown into the mix but over the last six months or so I’ve had a real hankering for some kind of utility bike, something that would take racks and allow me to go on camping and general adventuring trips and I have found that in the Weekender.
This bike is solidly built, it feels like it could take a real hammering and come out relatively unscathed, it’s built up using really nice components, far better than you’d usually expect to find on a complete bike at this price point. The Archer bar and stem really stand out from the crowd, the matte finish is beautiful and much better than we are used to seeing. The double walled rims are laced to super good hubs with great bearings that spin forever, sub-£1000 complete bikes often have a relatively low spec wheelset but that’s not the case here.

The Weekender runs a SRAM X5 derailleur and shifter, the 11-34 rear cassette combined with a 44t chainring gives a really practical gearing range, from 35GI to 109GI so this puppy will get you up the hills and you can really shift on the flat too. The thumb shifter is a joy to use, switching up and down is effortless.

Avid mechanical disc brakes provide the stopping power, I’d never used disc brakes before but now I can’t stop raving about them, in fact I sometimes brake just because I enjoy it so much! Hopefully we’ll start to see more disc equipped road bikes hitting the market soon because I want one, ha.

The real business end of any bike is the tyres, they can make or brake a ride, the Fairdale Weekender takes no chances. The 37c Continental Contact will take on a wide range of terrain, they roll fast and feature a Kevlar belt to prevent flats, it’ll take a lot to put these guys out of action.
The bike is finished off with high quality Odyssey pedals and grips, used by BMXers the world over and snazzy orange cables and detailing, what a beaut!
The Fairdale Weekender retails for £749.99 and also comes in green, I absolutely love it and I’m sure you will too, be sure to check out the full Fairdale range because this is just one of many of their awesome bikes.

During yesterday’s epic edition of the Milan-San Remo classic you may have noticed some of the pro peloton using little mudguards and wondered what they are.
Well, the are called Ass Savers and are the work of the Swedish which should come as no surprise, only they could come up with something so simple.
We are offering 10% off all Ass Savers on our website, all you need to do is enter the code ‘bumbum‘ into the box in your BASKET before you enter any of your details.

We are huge fans of Genesis Bikes, they are all designed in the UK specifically for our terrain and that really shines through when you ride one. One of of our favourite bikes in the range is the Fortitude Singlespeed, it’s the epitome of simplicity and functionality over bells and whistles.
The frame is built from Reynolds 725 steel which is both forgiving yet extremely strong, making for a responsive and lively ride. Genesis are really behind the properties of steel and have actually introduced a road team this year who will all be riding steel frames which is bold statement in the age of high tech carbon production.
The 29″ wheels are great for a singlespeed bike because you get more out of each pedal rotation than you do with a traditional 26″ wheel meaning you can ride the trails for longer before you run out of puff. It features hydraulic disc brakes rather than mechanical ones which you would expect to find on a bike at this price, on a bike with as few components as a singlespeed the difference in quality is really noticeable.
There is a joy to be had in fully rigid riding, it is a form of mountain biking where you are directly connected to the trail, every shift of your body weight, every dab of the brake lever, every pedal stroke, they all count, it’s a simple but beautiful and rewarding way to ride. In an industry where we are always being sold the latest technology sometimes you just want to escape and it’s amazing just how much fun a rigid bike can be. You will become fast, you will start relying on skills you forget you even had and rather than just charging through obstacles on the latest front or fully suspended bike, you will have to pick your lines, learn how to read the trail again and become a better rider for it.
Check out this video which includes loads of information about the Genesis Fortitude range and watch the bikes in action.

We have been lucky enough to get our hands one of the very limited deluxe editions of the ‘Cinelli: The Art and Design of the Bicycle‘ book. There are only 200 of these worldwide, each one signed by Antonio Columbo himself.
The book itself is amazing, no doubt you have either seen plenty of photos online or got a copy for yourself already so I won’t bore you with the contents, instead here is what you get in the deluxe box…

Surprise surprise, inside the box you are greeted with the book!

Underneath the book there is a certificate with your edition number, in our case 39/200 hand signed by Antonio Columbo.

And underneath the certificate is a replica of the legendary Cinelli wool cap.

Antonio has also signed and numbered the inside of each of these deluxe edition books, nice!
If you want to pop into the shop to have a look through the book you are welcome to BUT you will have to bring us treats AND go through a rigorous check of your hands, we don’t want any dirty fingerprints soiling our precious book!
